Deck Resurfacing

A wooden deck under renovation with some flooring unfinished, tools laying on the deck, and a plastic water bottle on the ground. The backyard has a black fence, trees, and nearby houses, with one house covered in a blue tarp.

DECK RESURFACING

Your outdoor space should look as good as the memories made on it. Over time, weather, foot traffic, and exposure can leave your deck rough, rotten, and worn down.

Stain Crew provides full deck board resurfacing that restores the look, improves safety, and extends the life of your deck—without the cost of a full replacement.

BRING YOUR DECK BACK TO LIFE

Deck resurfacing is the process of removing and replacing all of your deck boards. If your frame and joists are still solid, replacing the deck boards is a great option.

WHAT IS DECK RESURFACING?

A lot of times, rotten deck boards are caused by a previously failed coating. Many of the store bought stains are “form-filming” stains and sealers meaning that they sit on top of the surface rather than penetrate the wood. Once moisture gets under that coating, it gets trapped and causes premature decay and rot. Completely stripping off the old coating can be costly and doesn’t always guarantee the wood underneath will be decent. Thats when deck resurfacing becomes the more cost effective, long term solution.

WHY RESURFACE YOUR DECK?

SIGNS YOUR DECK NEEDS RESURFACING

Not sure if resurfacing is right for you? Here are some common signs:

  • Multiple coatings of solid stain/paint that are beginning to fail

  • Bouncy boards - The ones you avoid when you walk on your deck!

  • Major cracks, warping, and splintering

  • Rotten deck boards throughout

If your deck still has a solid frame, resurfacing can save you thousands compared to a full rebuild.
